5 Sparkly Holiday Looks You Can Wear with Jeans

OK, I admit it. I get a little giddy this time of year when I get to pull out all my glittery, sparkly, sequined things! I love them so much. So I try to find as many ways to wear them - whether I'm getting dressed for a holiday party or at home with my family, ringing in the new year in my living room, or just a December zoom call. Because.... 'tis the season, right?

If you're in the mood for a little (or a lot!) of sparkle for your holiday gatherings, here are 5 easy looks you can copy - whether you like to play it a little more classic, or go full on sequins! And bonus: you can wear them all with jeans. You're welcome!

Holiday Look #1: Sequin Glam

We're going to go right for the over the top glitz on this first look. I mean, you should go all out on the holidays, right? The thing I love most about this look is the mixing of metals. I'm a big fan of mixing things up. I never (NEVER!) wear matching jewelry sets. It's one of my hard and fast style rules. If I buy a set, I break them apart and wear them separately. So now, I'm giving you permission to do the same. Down with the matching sets, I say! Go ahead, mix your gold with your silver with your rose gold. You may cringe at first, but trust me. It comes together beautifully!

Holiday Look #2: Lace Elegance

Black lace is one of those things you should never throw out. I've owned this J. Crew black lace top for years and it is always perfect for the holidays. If you're the type that loves to look classy and elegant, this look is screaming your name! Add some classic accessories, like a chunky pearl necklace, some sparkly earrings, simple kitten heels, red nails (obvi) and voila! Talk about a wow factor without going over the top!

Look #3: Cozy Sparkles

No doubt that cozy and comfy outfits are going to top the favorites list this year, as so many of our holiday gatherings will look completely different this year. But I'm here to tell you: You can do cozy AND up the sparkle factor.

Here's how: Start off with a sparkly skirt of your choice. I went for the full sequined version, but there are others out there that are a little more understated (check my shopping link to see options!). Then, pair it with your favorite cozy sweater. I'm loving the tone-on-tone look of the cream cable knit sweater against the rose gold sequins, but you can do any combo you love. (Think: Gold sequins + black sweater, Rose gold sequins + pink sweater, Silver sequins + burgundy sweater ... you get the idea.) As you've figured out by now, I love mixing the metals in my jewelry to avoid looking too matchy-matchy. I don't go too crazy with my accessories so that the sparkly skirt can really shine. Finally, add a pair of flats, heels or booties of your choice! I couldn't resist this little jeweled pair of flats. How adorable are they?!

Holiday Look #4: Mad for Plaid

Where are my plaid fans? I love a good tartan plaid for the winter. And can you believe that I almost donated this sweet little classic this past summer? Something told me to keep it around, because it's a closet classic. Thank goodness I did, because look how fun it can be during the holidays! One of the things I love about this look is the mix of blue and black: navy blue in my plaid and the blue in my jeans + my black earrings. It's subtle, but gives it a modern twist. I chose a pair of high-waisted flare jeans in a vintage blue for this look, which I think adds to laid back vibe of the plaid shirt.

Then, elevate the look to make it holiday ready (and avoid looking like a lumberjack) with feminine accessories - black ribbon earrings, gold bracelets, sparkles shoes! (By the way, Santa, please bring me these sparkly shoes this year!!)

Holiday Look #5: Simple Chic

Now where are my ladies who love simplicity? This one is for you! You just can't go wrong with a beautiful, statement making blouse in a holiday color (blues, green, reds, blues). This top I'm wearing has been a favorite amongst my followers on IG and Facebook, and while J. Crew was selling this top in different colors this year, it is now almost all sold out. (Don't worry, I've found several similar tops that are just as stunning for you right here!)

This look is easy to pull off: choose the holiday blouse of your choice, add some sparkly statement earrings (and a bracelet if you wish), then add a bit of interest in your shoe. I love the leopard with this dark green, but you could also do a sparkly flat. That's it!

The Final Touch: The Perfect At-Home Mani

Shop my favorite holiday Olive & June picks here

No good holiday look would be complete without a mani! Whether you're a long-time at home mani girl, or have had to skip the salon this year to stay safe, you need to check out Olive & June. I didn't think I could get this excited about nail polish! Not only do they have amazing colors and perfectly coordinated ombre combinations to choose from (and are constantly adding new colors!), they teach you how to create the perfect at-home mani or pedi - and give you the tools to do it. You guys, the fact that I could get a solid 5 days out of my mani without any chips was the moment I decided I was never looking back. And I'm super hard on my nails. Many women have said they can get up to 10 days out of their Olive & June mani! Talk about disrupting the nail industry!

Shop my favorite colors for the season right here - including the perfect cool red which I am wearing in the photo below. Be sure to check out their fast drying Dry Drops (dries my nails in 80 seconds!) and their Poppy tool which helps keep your hand steady when painting. Brilliant! I also love their Cuticle Serum Duo - which is sold in a smart 2-pack so you can keep your cuticles healthy no matter where you are. I have one on my nightstand and another in my office.

For the record: I am not paid to be promoting Olive & June, I just love what they have going on and the fact that I'm able to support a small biz. #winwin They have a forever customer in me!

I hope you loved these easy holiday looks and are gearing up to create one of these looks for yourself this year! Happy holidays!
