Welcome to The Visibility Shift, the podcast where style becomes your most powerful strategy for being seen, standing out, and leading boldly. I'm Ellie Steinbrink, stylist and personal brand coach, and if you've ever thought, "My style just isn't working anymore," take this as your sign. You're ready for your next level. And instead of launching into a panicked shopping spree, what you really need is a strategy. A style strategy that reflects where you're headed, not who you used to be or who you think you need to be to fit in.

Because when your style aligns with your brand and your vision, everything shifts. You lead with more presence, you attract the right opportunities and clients, and you fully step into the woman you're becoming. Because showing up as yourself, that's the most strategic thing you can do. Now let's get visible.

Hello, and welcome back to The Visibility Shift podcast. I'm so glad you're here. I want to let you in on a little something I've learned about working with hundreds of powerful, magnetic, incredible women just like you.

At some point, the bigger the rooms, the bigger the opportunities, the more exciting the stages as they grew and they grew, all of that growth started to outpace their closet. And it's not just because their business had grown, and it certainly had, but it was because they had grown and how they wanted to show up in their business was different. And they realized the magical part of their business and their brand is them being more authentic.

If you're nodding your head along, and this is something you are deeply feeling right now, I want you to pay attention. Because when you wake up and you walk into your closet and you get that feeling of "None of this really feels like me anymore, why do I feel like when all of these outfits used to work for the stages I spoke on and used to work for the meetings that I was attending, and I really like these clothes, why do they just not feel right anymore?"

I want to invite you to, instead of seeing this as a crisis that you need to go and start shopping to solve, what if you saw it for what it really is? That it's a sign that you're becoming someone who is ready for the bigger opportunities, you're ready for being bolder, you're ready to be visible in a more authentic way. And your style? Well, it needs to catch up with the growth that you're experiencing.

When women experience this kind of a shift in their personal and professional lives, really, honestly, isn't this shift always like a mixing of both personal and professional? It's never just one or the other. Most women, when they experience this tension, and myself included, our knee-jerk reaction is that we're just going to go shopping. We know that there's a tension there, and we desperately are trying to solve the problem.

So whether it's a personal shopper, it's a shopping haul, it's hiring a stylist, it's going to a big haul at Nordstrom, we know something needs to shift, and so we want to take action, right? But here's what I know about myself, because I have experiences, and also watching my clients go through the same struggle, is that buying more clothes is not actually the answer. And I hate to tell you that, because that feels like the thing that is going to give us traction, right? But more clothes and an even more stuffed closet is only going to serve to confuse you, not to clarify. So you don't, in fact, have a shopping problem.

What you have is a strategy problem. You have a strategy gap. Shopping may actually be the thing that's keeping you from doing, it's distracting you from doing the real work.

Now, one thing I know about you, if you're listening, is that you're not new to visibility, because the women I work with, listen, they're dynamic. They're making waves. They are running amazing businesses.

They are incredible leaders. Being visible is not new to you. What's new is being more authentic in your visibility.

So when you step into bigger rooms, you're invited onto bigger stages, you're pitching to your dream clients, you know, deep down—because I'm hearing this everywhere I go, conferences I attend, podcasts I listen to—you know that showing up more as yourself is the key. But showing up more of yourself in your style, that's pretty challenging. And it's vulnerable as hell, because it feels like a risk.

Like we know how to show up and perform, don't we? We know how to do the damn thing. But do we know how to do it in a more authentic way? And I think this is where most women stay stuck. They want to defer back to what has always worked, but deep down, they know it's not aligned.

So while we're here talking about a style transformation, I'm here to tell you that it's so much more than the clothes, and we want to always make it about the clothes. This is about an energetic shift. It's a mindset shift.

It's about getting okay with being yourself and letting others see you. It's about letting go of the old parts of you so that you can emerge in this new way. Many years ago, I realized that the value that I offered my clients wasn't just the shopping.

I know this because I started this business being a, let's just say I was a personal shopper. I would gather a few details, you know, about them and what they wanted, and then we'd go off shopping. But there was always a gap between what they told me they wanted to do and where they wanted to go and where they were.

And that gap really needed some coaching. Their minds needed to come along with the change that they were wanting to make because haven't we all experienced that where we say we want something, but then when we actually go to put it in action, it's a hell of a lot harder because we're faced with like actually doing the darn thing. They weren't really ready for the change.

They needed to make a mindset shift change before they could actually realize the change they wanted for themselves. And so that's what my work ended up being. And I developed this whole program around getting your inside ready so that you could translate that on the outside.

This realization that I had working with clients and then later shifting my business to understanding what the transformational piece in this process was, this was an inside-out process. I realized this was the magic sauce. This was even more magical than the shopping and the styling.

And my clients were telling me that. And I got this feedback over and over and over again. And I'm like, "Hey, I think I'm onto something here."

And it's why I have chosen to create this very program I have done over and over and over with my one-to-one clients, why I have chosen to make it into a group experience. And this group experience is called The Visibility Edit. This experience is not about me telling you what to wear because I could, and I have done this, and you'd look fabulous.

I can guarantee. But if you don't feel aligned or on board with that outfit or that style, it will never work. The problem here is we haven't come to terms with who we actually want to be before we start to take those actions.

The Visibility Edit was created so you can experience the change from the inside first and give yourself permission to show up differently, to show up more authentically. And when you can create this foundation first and get your body on board with what you're doing, the clothes are just the cherry on top. And because we're doing some really deep work here, the Visibility Edit was structured as an eight-week supportive and guided experience where we're going to ground ourselves in who we're becoming.

We're going to allow ourselves to want something different than we currently are. Even if it's worked for us, we're going to give ourselves permission to embrace something new that honors where we're going. So that you end up with an authentic style that is undeniably magnetic.

Because it's coming from the inside, not what others are telling you to be. Here's the truth that I want you to hear. The most magnetic and dynamic women and leaders that you're seeing on stage and you're seeing running the businesses, they're not more stylish because they have better taste or they know how to shop.

They're more stylish and attractive in the energetic sense because they have decided to be themselves and trust that that is enough. And that being authentic is what people actually want from them. This is the secret that no one is talking about and that I want to share with you.

Okay, I want to get down a little bit to the nitty-gritty because I'm a detailed person and I always like to know what I'm getting into. And I know there's someone out there listening right now, you perhaps, that wants to know what you're buying into, okay? So I'm going to talk a little bit about what you're going to experience week by week inside the Visibility Edit. And we're going to actually move through what I call a Visibility Arc, where we're covering really three main themes throughout these eight weeks.

And the themes are, first of all, we're going to get clear on the identity that we want to claim. So weeks one through four are going to be all about closing the identity gap. So when I say identity gap, I mean closing the gap between who you are right now and who you know you're becoming.

You're going to get clear on that woman. We're going to bust some old rules that are keeping you small. And we're going to flex the muscle of being visible in an authentic way.

The second main area we're going to cover is some really brand-aligned strategy, style strategy. I've been talking about this all along. We need a strategy.

And this is where it's going to get a little bit more practical and tactical. So we're going to talk about your power color. We're going to learn about how to use colors to your benefit.

We're going to talk about understanding shapes and silhouettes on your body and how those create greater proportion and balance. But ultimately, we're going to allow yourself to choose what feels right inside those practical tips. This isn't going to be me saying, "You need to wear this, this and that."

It's you understanding the landscape so you can choose what aligns with you. And then the third major piece we're going to go through is what I call embodiment. And this is where we essentially practice.

We're going to learn how to live this style that you've created for yourself, not just on those big moments of your life, not just on the stage, not in the client meeting, but also when I'm working from home and no one sees me, when I go to the grocery store, when I'm at my kids games, when I'm in the airport after the big event and someone runs, you know, a fan comes and talks to me and now I feel like I'm not pulled together. We're going to practice and flex that muscle of how to actually embody what you now have said you want. Going a little bit deeper than that, weeks one through four, as I said, are about identity.

So week one, we're going to get really crystal clear on who we want to be. Who is the woman you're becoming? What does she wear? What does she even like? Because Lord knows, and you've heard me talk about it here. We've been told what we should like from this, that, and the other source.

There's no shortage of people telling us what we should like. But now the question is, if you're being your most authentic self, what do you actually like? We're just going to start to get, we're going to dream a little bit. We're going to dream unencumbered.

Week two, we're going to start to map out your signature style brand map. That's a lot of words, right? Signature style brand map. You're creating a brand for yourself, right? And part of that brand is not just how you talk or what you say.

It's what you look like and how you embody your personality on the outside. So we're talking about defining your three personal style words and how you can make sure those words are embodied in every outfit you create for yourself. We're going to talk about defining your power color, and we're going to start talking about silhouettes that feel aligned with your own personal style.

In week three, we need to start getting clear on what's holding us back. So we're going to bust some style rules. Those outdated rules, expectations, beliefs that are ultimately keeping you small.

They're hijacking your decisions because it's the only way we've ever known how to make style decisions up to this point is all these rules we've been given. But now we're giving ourselves permission to say, "If I want to change those, some of these rules need to be left behind." In week four, we're going to help you have the courage to actually be seen as yourself, okay? This isn't just about, yes, I know how to stand on stage.

This is about how to stand on stage or to be in a client meeting as yourself. And we're going to flex that muscle of stretching your comfort zone. We're going to talk about what it means to build a brand for yourself and how that involves differentiating yourself, not being the same as everyone else in your space.

Okay, so that's weeks one through four. We're talking about becoming this new version of yourself. What is that new identity you're embracing? Weeks five and six is where we're getting into a little bit of strategy, okay? So this is for those who love practical tips.

My hand is raised. I mean, I love me some good like visioning work and identity work, but then I'm like, "kay, I need to know how," right? So this is for my ladies who are like, "Okay, give it to me." We're going to talk about colors and silhouettes.

And if you want to get a color analysis as part of this, you certainly can. That will be an additional fee that you can add onto this process, or if you've already had your colors done, great. But listen, if you haven't, it's not needed.

It's not necessary because ultimately you're going to start defining what colors do I love and how can I start incorporating that into my style? We're going to talk about the different body types and which silhouettes naturally complement those body types. We're going to talk about balance and proportion. These are some of the most transformative conversations I have with my clients just because it is so darn helpful.

But the beauty is that you're going to get to choose which of this aligns with your personal style and which doesn't. So again, it's not me saying you have to do this, but it's you opening up your eyes to a new way potentially that could make you feel better in your body. Also in this portion of strategy, style strategy, we're going to go into your closet in week six, and we're going to start allowing ourselves to let go of some of these things that are just no longer aligned.

So up to this point, we've been saying what we want. We've been rewriting the rules for ourselves. We've been claiming colors and silhouettes and styles that we like for ourselves.

Now we're going to allow ourselves to go into our closet and just get rid of the things that are not lining up with this new vision. And I understand going into our closets can be emotional sometimes, and that's okay. That's why we have this container, and it's why every week we're going to be on a live call to reflect and ask questions, and get support from each other as we literally change ourselves and we change our closets.

The final piece, the last two weeks, is what I'm calling embodiment. And this is what I also like to refer to as practice. Making what you've claimed for yourself stick.

So in week seven, we're going to learn how to not just show up with your style in the big moments of your life, and often I'll find that women come to me because they've got a brand photoshoot or because they've got a busy speaking season coming up or because they've got these big work events that are very important to them. Yes, we do want to know how to show up in a branded way, in an authentic branded way, in those big moments, but we also want to feel like we are branded and authentic in those other areas of our life. Because as I mentioned, you never know when you're going to, you know, as a business owner, I'm finding that I run into people all the time, I want to feel like myself in all of those instances, whether I'm on the soccer field for a kid event, I'm out on a date night with my husband, I want to feel aligned, I don't just want one part of my life to feel like I got it, I'm nailing it, and the others are just left behind.

So we're talking about dressing for daily alignment. In week eight, we're going to help you craft some signature looks. Okay, so we're going to start practicing, we're going to start playing, we're going to take some risks, and see how it feels.

Because I want you to start practicing this while we're together. And while you can ask questions, and while you can say, "Oh my gosh, this is exciting. And it's scary all at once,"

and I want to be there to say, "Yes, that's exactly how you should be feeling. That's perfect." Okay, and we're going to write a new visibility mantra.

So something that you can say to yourself in those moments when you're feeling really scared as heck to go out and start being this woman that you said you wanted to be. This is where your style stops being performative, and it actually is embodied. This experience isn't about me telling you what to buy.

If you want someone that's going to tell you just what to buy, this isn't the container for you. It's really about building self-trust, while I'm there to hold your hand and give you guidance and support. And so you can stop second-guessing yourself and you can make more aligned decisions and give yourself permission to show up in the way that you know is true for you.

Women that I work with will tell me all the time, "Ellie, I thought it was coming to you for like a style makeover, like just like Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear. I thought I was just going to like overnight, I was going to become a new woman." Well, guess what? The kind of transformation that we're talking about, it just doesn't happen overnight.'

My clients will tell me that what was really magical in this process was the transformation that they experienced before the shopping ever started. One client that comes to mind was someone who was a guest on the show, Natalee. Natalee was a great example of someone who really thought she was just going to get a new set of outfits.

I mean, we came together because she had a photo shoot for her business, and she wanted to feel really great in front of the camera. And really, she thought we were just going to go find some amazing outfits. And what she actually ended up getting was permission to show up as herself.

She felt emboldened to be who she was and wear what she loved in those client settings where she felt pressure to be or look a certain way. She did learn a lot of self-trust. She learned that the more she leaned into being this way and showing up this way in those on camera for the various different things she has to be on camera for, or in the photo shoot, or in these client meetings, she slowly learned through doing and practicing that when you show up as yourself, you can trust that because that is magnetic.

That is what people want from her. That is what clients want from her. They don't want some carbon copy.

They want her and what makes her unique. That's what makes you attractive. That's what this is all about.

I want to set a few expectations for how you can decide, is this right for me? And I'm just going to be totally honest because I think you deserve that. And I want people to be honest with me when I'm making decisions. So if you're sitting there thinking, "I just need a quick fix. I've got this event coming up. I've got this photo shoot coming up," whatever it is, X, Y, Z coming up in your calendar, "and I just need to look good for it," this is probably not the space for you.

If you know things are shifting in your business and there's kind of a longer term, there's a longer pathway ahead of you and you're planning and anticipating you want to shift how you show up, then yes, I think this would be an absolutely fantastic container for you because it gives you time to strategize before you actually take action. If you're looking for like a curated list of what to buy for the fall, if you're looking for a capsule wardrobe suggestion, if you're looking for where this trend, not that trend, this is probably not the thing.

This isn't prescriptive. Again, this is learning to trust yourself. Can I offer some suggestions along the way? Yes, but there is definitely not going to be a wear this, not that portion of this group.

This is definitely for you. If you feel yourself shifting into a new phase of your life and your career where you feel expansion and you know that expansion is going to require more of you and more of the true you behind your business, and if you know that what has gotten you here has worked, but now there needs to be a new way for moving forward, if that's how you're feeling, this is absolutely the right place for you. This is the right place for you if you are someone who really loves doing the deeper work.

If you don't mind getting a little bit uncomfortable, if you don't mind playing with different versions of yourself or what could be possible, if you're willing to shed old ways of thinking and doing when it comes to your style, because ultimately the goal isn't here just to wear a cute outfit that gets you lots of compliments. It's to feel undeniably like you so that you can attract the right things into your world, into your personal life, into your business. That is where the magnetism that you've been craving comes to life.

As we wrap this up, I just want to say if you find yourself nodding along and almost taking a sigh of relief or like your shoulders are relaxing, I know sometimes when I hear things that feel like peace and freedom to me, that's how my body reacts. I can just feel it like I feel magnetized to that. If that's how you're feeling right now, this is your invitation.

The Visibility Edit is where you build the presence, the authentic presence you need for the rooms you're about to walk into, for the life you're about to build for yourself, for the business, the next level version of your business. If you're ready to stop blending in, if you're ready to lead with a more authentic presence and feel fully seen and just being okay with that, this is absolutely for you. I got to say that spots are limited.

I have to say this. I'm a marketing girl. You guys know I am.

I'm not just saying this to sway you from a marketing perspective. It's legitimately limited because I want this to be an intimate experience to the tune of no more than 15 people because I want you to be in a group where you can share and be supported by other women who are on the same path as you, craving to show more of themselves as a business strategy. And if you're ready for this kind of powerful transformation that you really will not forget, this will be something you will always remember in your life, I want you to head to the link in the show notes and I want you to apply.

And what it means when you apply is that we're just going to get on a sales call and I'm going to get a really good understanding of what path you're on and if this is an actual good container for you. And remember, if you were building a personal brand for yourself, you weren't meant to blend in. You were meant to be seen.

And I want to do this with you together. As always, you guys, I want just to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me today. I hope this gave you a lot more information about what you can expect.

You can always reach out to me, email me, leave a comment, whatever way you want to go about, you know, message me on Instagram. If you have questions, absolutely, let me know because I am happy to have a conversation with you about whether or not this is a right fit. And I absolutely cannot wait to see you inside the Visibility Edit because this is going to be the next step that is going to catapult you like you will not believe.

So with that, I hope you join me, and if nothing else, I hope you join me in the next episode.

Thanks for joining me on The Visibility Shift. If something in today's episode made you pause, rethink, or gave you permission to stop playing small, it would mean so much to me if you'd leave a review at ratethispodcast.com/visibilityshift.
